In Cuernavaca, the lack of safe, inspiring public spaces for women and girls is a persistent issue. The challenge was to reclaim a neglected basketball court and turn it into a place of visibility, strength, and collective identity — without diluting the raw power of the message.
We built the project from the ground up: starting with the physical renovation of the court, and layering it with art, community rituals, and audiovisual storytelling. With Janín as lead artist and Daniel Arróniz directing photography, Somos Fuego became both a destination and a declaration.
Somos Fuego turned a forgotten court into a landmark of collective strength. It showed how public art and local collaboration can reshape narratives, reclaim space, and ignite pride — not just visually, but emotionally and socially.
For Rookie and Eleva, this project was a chance to support radical softness and public empowerment — where art, identity and sisterhood come together in fire.
Next projects.
